The South Shore Joeys, COAI Alley 159A, are proud to be the hosts of the 1997 Clowns of America International, Inc. 1997 Convention. Your committee Chairclowns are:
Committee Chairclowns |
|
|---|---|
| Chairclown | Responsibility |
| Harvey "Jingles" Jacobvitz & Sue "Fruit" Oberg | Hotel/Printing And all the other hard stuff! |
| Steve "Koo Koo" Cook | Staging/Lighting/Competition/Sound Steve knows what light and sound is all about! He has done every aspect of the theater from lead parts to setting up the props. So, when you are on that stage, you will be in the best of hands. |
| Bob "B. B." Widdop | Entertainment/Lecturers I believe this will be one of the most educational and entertaining conventions COAI has ever had. We will have over 27 workshops taught by some of the foremost clown educators teaching today. At our lunch time shows, you'll be entertained by professionals guaranteed to bring a smile. And if that isn't enough, our banquet show starring juggling minstrel Leonard Solomon and his ingenious musical inventions, the magic of Duane Laflin, and the musical comedy of Paul Wayne will be worth the trip alone! For a small cover fee of $5.00, you'll have the opportunity to visit a "close-up magic" room, where you can view six different magicians performing magic no further away from you than your seat at the table. (Seats will be limited - so get there early!) The wine and cheese party will have a visit by an old vaudevillian that is sure to get everyone in a party mood. Can you believe it? I can't wait. It will be NON-STOP EDU-TAINMENT! Bring plenty of pencils and paper because the recording of workshops and shows will be strictly prohibited. But Oh! what memories! See you there! |
| Flo "Fluffo" Bergeron | Goodie Bags I hope they will be too heavy for you to carry home! |
| Milly "Sparkles" Savage | Dealers Wigs and make-up and big shoes, oh my! If you think the land of Oz had special props and magic, wait until you come to Sturbridge Village, the land of the '97 International Convention Vendors Room. Nineteen vendors have been chosen by our committee. These vendors offer the complete costume from the small hats to big shoes. There will be plenty of balloons, magic, juggling, foam props and face painting supplies that will turn your character into a professional. Tons of stickers, costume jewelry, clocks, watches and parachutes will be available to weigh down your luggage for your return trip home. So, save some room. Finally, your character can become a caricature to add to your promotional resumes. |
| Ed "Chubby Cheeks" Savage | Hospitality Our hospitality room will have a different host alley every night. I've heard they have some very special plans for those nights. |
| Barbara "Barbie Doll" Kelleher | Registration South Shore Joeys President Barbara "Barbie Doll" Kelleher is still accepting convention registrations. So mail them today!! All who have pre-registered will receive a confirmation letter which includes a schedule and some very important information regarding the convention. PLEASE take the time to read it. Any questions, call A.S.A.P. |
| Patty "P. J." Sorell | Decorations Decorations are well on their way to fabulous! With Balloon Decor provided by the New England Chapter of the Qualatex Balloon Network, the decor will provide the final touch of color and excitement to the convention. From festive fall colors and cornucopias to patriotic Reds, Whites, and Blues, this year's convention will be as colorful as it can be! |
| Donna "Smiles" Reisberg | Financial
Controls Donna is the convention treasurer and chairperson for our program book. We are still accepting your camera-ready advertisement. So, don't delay, you could miss out! |
| Patricia "Pinky" Craffey & Arthur "Lucky" Craffey | Banquet Hear ye, Hear ye! Come one and all to enjoy a banquet fit for the best. New England fare consisting of turkey or steak, a good time with good people, but best of all -- the most spectacular night of entertainment for everyone to enjoy. Formal is optional, but semi-formal is a must. So come one and all for an evening of pure enjoyment from New England. |
