January/February, 1997 Letter to Calliope

Massachusetts, it won't be long now!

By Susan "Fruit" Oberg & Harvey "Jingles" Jacobvitz
Convention Chairclowns for 1997

The first thing we have to do is get you to Massachusetts!! For those planning to travel by air, Continental is the official convention airline to receive a discount. Tell your travel agent to call (800) 468-7022 for reservations using reference RE: Z code: ZJWF reference: NRCESL. Tell them that you are a COAI clown!! We strongly advise using only Bradley International Airport in Hartford, CT. Any other airport and your on your own.

Convention shuttle service will only pick up at Bradley from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, so make your arrangements accordingly. If you prefer a car at the airport, we will send you information on Enterprise Rental Car. They will be giving a discount for out convention goers. At Bradley call (860) 292-7061, at Worcester call (508) 792-4700, and at Logan call (617) 561-4488 for your car rental reservations.

To reserve your hotel room at the Sturbridge host, call (800) 582-3232 or (508) 247-7393. If you need wheel chair access, please let them know when your making your reservation. The hotel is booking fast so we have made arrangements with another hotel just across the street. Its in walking distance for all our overflow. When the Sturbridge Host is full, they will give out the number to call.

Please to remember to indicate if you plan to participate in either the early bird tour or the hospital visit. This information is very important to us so that we will be able to provide the buses needed. All excursions are subject to advance interest and payment.

Nearby, just across the street, is the internationally famous Old Sturbridge Village. It is the largest outdoor museum in the Northeast. If you check it off on your registration, you can get the group rate. You may visit it any time during the week. Remember, the early bird trip to the Worcester Common Fashion Outlet and the Nashoba Valley Winery tour.

The Convention Committee has been working long and hard over the past two years to bring you the best of the best in clowning for the beginner as well as the experienced clown. Our workshops, lectures, entertainment and dealers have been designed to meet your every need and taste.

Bump a Nose!
