The Bellowphone Show
featuring a juggling minstrel and his ingenious musical inventions

For over 10 years, Leonard Solomon has been entertaining enthusiastic crowds at festivals, corporate outings, conventions, private parties, school assemblies and colleges.

No description can adequately convey the goose-honking and train-whistle cacophony of the Majestic Bellowphone, cranking out a chamber work of Mozart or striding to the strains of a Sousa march. ("Yes, Len responds, "I invented this thing -- I'm sorry.")

Then, there's a sweet piping Bach prelude, played on the Callioforte. ("That's nice," yells a fan, "but we like the goofy stuff better.")

The show also includes a polished juggling routine, and Solomon's eccentric sense of humor pervades throughout.

"Joke time", he intones seriously, holding Goort the Laughing Horn at the ready, just in case.

"Immediately the crowd was in stitches"
      The Boston Globe
  "...Solomon was a gem"
Louisville Courier-Journal, review of Lonesome Pine Special "One Man Band Extravaganza" on PBS
  "...musically sophisticated, but wholly enchanting."
Bau Graves, Portland Center for the Arts
"A versatile performer... a master juggler... I highly recommend Len Solomon"
      Eva Robbins, The Children's Museum
"Students and faculty alike were entranced by his troubadour's off-beat performance."
      Connie MacGillivray, Belmont Hill School
"Using nothing more than plumbing fixtures, rubber balls, homemade springs and assorted junkyard effluvia, I've managed to set musical technology back about 400 years."
      Leonard Solomon
"...somewhere between a symphony orchestra and an oom-pah band."
      The Concord Journal
"With a degree in music and access to a good junkyard, you too could play Beethoven's Fifth Symphony with such finesse."
      The Boston Phoenix
  "...hundreds were enchanted..."
      Nancy DellaRocco, First Night Boston
