Cathy "Puddles" Dodge

Puppets as Partners, (Room #2)
Thursday, April 17, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

For the past fifteen years, Cathy has been involved with children's entertainment. During that time she discovered a passion for puppets. Cathy has studied under Bob Brown, a nationally known puppeteer in the Washington, DC area. In the past ten years, she has taught clowning and puppetry for Laughmakers, COAI, and Puppeteers of America. Her clown character has visited the White House, done a two week sting with Circus Vargus, and performed at Wolfe Trapp.

Why Work Alone - Puppets As Partners
Clowns and puppets go "hand in hand". And before your realize it, you are working with a partner. Together we will explore the different scenarios where puppets can enhance your clowning. During the demonstrations we will highlight basic puppet presentation skills and staging. So be prepared to laugh and even learn some "principles of puppetry" on the way.
